How it works

Dissolved air flotation

At the heart of any industrial wastewater treatment plant lies a dissolved air flotation system (DAF). FlotLife's COMPACT DAF is a space-saving set of equipment for efficient treatment of flow 1,5-15 m3/h.

The cylindrical shaped body of the DAF unit is made of GFRP (Glass-Fiber-Reinforced-Polymer) that is corrosion and chemicals resistant. Metallic parts are made of stainless steel AISI304 or AISI316.

Depending on wastewater type, COMPACT DAF can achieve following removal efficiency: FOG: 90%, Suspended solids: 90%, BOD: 65-80%, COD: 65-80%.

Fits perfectly in an ISO standard maritime container thus saving space and being optimized for worldwide deliveries.

Components and process flow of COMPACT DAF

Flocculation pipe

In the flocculation pipe coagulants and flocculants are mixed into wastewater to form floatable solids.

Recirculation pump

Recirculation pump mixes water with air thus generating micro bubbles that lift the floatable solids to the surface.

Saturation chamber

Saturation chamber provides compressed air for micro bubble generation.

Scraper mechanism

Circular scraper mechanism removes the floating solids from the surface of water.

Treated water outlet

Treated water is discharged by into treated water outlet.

Sludge outlet

Sludge formed of removed floating solids is discharged into sludge outlet.

Automatic drainage

Pneumatic pump provides automatic drainage of the bottom of the flotation tank.

Pneumatic valves

Pneumatic valves control the flow of the sludge.
